Need help with fitting a heat lamp into a Vivarium.

I'm thinking I should fit a heatlamp into Gimbles viv as it would be cheaper than the Petnap things. Has anyone done this, and if so, can they explain how they did it? Gimbles viv is just a normal sized Viv made by Faith.

I don't have one but all you need to do is screw the lamp holder into the top, take the plug off the cable and drill a hole big enough for the cable, then refit the plug :-)

The thing is although the Petnap's are expensive to buy, the running costs are very low, whereas a CHE will cost a fair bit a month to run :-)

I use a ceramic for one of my hogs rather than heating the whole room more to keep just her warm. I have a pulsing stat, although an on off one would work just fine.

Ceramic bulb & a ceramic bumb holder & yous off (important you get a ceramic bulb holder cos a normal one will melt)

Really simple,and if you have a stat it will only be on when its required anyways
